FAQ
Questions, answered
before you ask.
Costs, timelines, ownership, and how working with us actually goes. Anything missing? Ask - we reply within 4 business hours.
- How much does a project cost?
- Fixed-scope builds start at $3,000, product MVPs at $8,000, and ongoing engineering retainers at $1,500 per month. The exact figure depends on scope, and you get it in writing - a plan, timeline and cost - before any work begins.
- How long does a typical project take?
- Discovery and design take one to two weeks each, and the build phase runs four to twelve weeks depending on scope. A typical website ships in three to five weeks; a custom platform or MVP in eight to sixteen weeks.
- Who owns the code and the infrastructure?
- You do, from day one. Code lives in a repository you control or receive in full at handover, and systems can run on your infrastructure or ours - your choice. There is no lock-in: if we part ways, everything you paid for goes with you.
- Do you work with international clients?
- Yes. We are based in Kampala (East Africa Time), which overlaps the full European workday and US East Coast mornings. We invoice in USD and accept international payment via bank transfer, Wise and Payoneer.
- How do you handle data protection?
- Systems that hold personal data are built to comply with Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act (2019), and we apply GDPR-aware practices for projects with European users: consent, minimisation, encryption at rest and in transit, and documented retention.
- What happens after launch?
- Every fixed-scope build includes 30 days of post-launch support. After that, most clients move to an ongoing engineering retainer that covers new features, maintenance, security monitoring and priority incident response.
- Can we start small before committing to a big project?
- Yes - we recommend it. A paid two-to-four week pilot on a well-defined slice of the work lets you judge the code, communication and delivery speed before committing to the full build.
- What do you actually build?
- Government registries and dashboards, NGO data and M&E platforms, fintech and payment integrations (including mobile money), e-commerce, AI systems, and our own products: FormGuard, SENTINEL and GetMyCents. 25+ systems are live in production across three countries.
- What technology stack do you use?
- Mostly TypeScript with Next.js and React on the front end, Node.js, Python (FastAPI) and Laravel on the back end, PostgreSQL and MySQL for data, and infrastructure we operate ourselves across three countries. We choose per project and put the reasoning in the technical spec.
- How fast do you respond?
- We reply to every inquiry within four business hours with next steps, and usually within one. Reach us through the contact form, by email, or on WhatsApp for the fastest turnaround.
